About me
I’ve been finding ways to travel for most of my adult life. I like to be in new places and experience new things, whether that is food, culture, history lessons, or natural wonders, rarely matters, as long as there is some combination of them, I am content. When I’m not exploring someplace new, I can usually be found out in nature, of which there are many amazing places in Central California, where I am based.
Becoming a FORA travel advisor in 2025 seemed like a natural and easy extension of my life experience. And, I am beyond excited to be able to share not only my joy of travel with others, but also, my expertise in curating and planning an EPIC adventure.
Some travel facts about me:
Longest travel experience: Just over 3 months when I was in my early 20s. Five weeks driving and camping through Baja Mexico, California, combined with two months of budget backpacking through Guatemala, Belize and Honduras.
Most epic “Trip of a Lifetime”: 10-day African safari in the Serengeti with 3 girlfriends plus 1 week in Zanzibar by the ocean.
Favorite family adventure with my kids: Honestly, this is a 3-way tie between Colombia, Greece and Turkey. All three countries felt safe, the people were friendly, and there were ample adventures perfect for all ages.
Favorite places in California: Joshua Tree National Park, Pinnacles National Park, Big Sur coast, Eastern Sierras. I could go on and on. California is ridiculously varied in its landscapes and is so large, that even after 20+ years in the state, I am still finding new gems while trying to get back to the places I already know and love.
Favorite Hotel: Kelebek Special Cave Hotel in Cappadocia, Turkey.
Most unexpected but joyful experiences: Sharing cherries with a young sheep herder as we trekked through a field on an unmarked path toward an epic view over Lake Egirdir in Turkey. Watching our boys catch fish off the dock with our boat driver using just some fishing line and a hook while staying on an island off the coast of Cartegena, Colombia.
Where to next: 2-1/2 week Summer road trip in Alaska!
